Jimmie Allen Kearney, Sr., 80, of Franklinton died Sunday, October 22, 2017 at his home. He was born on September 19, 1937 to the late Carl Morton and Mary Moss Kearney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Kearney; daughter; Becky Ann Moore; and son; Jay Moore.

Jimmie was a loving father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was very dedicated to his family. He was a genuine good guy, humble but proud and would always help anyone in need. Jimmie enjoyed making homemade sausage and was classified as the “Sausage King”.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 1245 Mt. Olivet Church Road, Franklinton, NC 27525 with Rev. Carl Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 pm on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Lancaster’s Franklinton Chapel, 504 East Mason Street, Franklinton, NC 27525.

Jimmie is survived by his sons; Jimmie Allen Kearney, Jr. (Debra); Ricky Morton Kearney; and Ronnie Kearney (Kandy Dwedari); and daughter; Elizabeth Ray (Lane). Also surviving are his brothers; Carl “Creeper” Kearney, Jr., Bebo Kearney (Libby); and sisters; Camilla “Dink” Pearce; Judene Day; and Betty Gooch; as well as, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
