Leah Wilder Wright, 81, of Franklinton passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017. She was born on February 1, 1936 to the late Samuel Owen and Eleanor Winston Wilder. In addition to her parents, Leah was preceded in death by her brother, John Lee Wilder.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Earl Wright; sons, Ronnie Wright (Terry), and Kim Wright; her daughters, Jodie W. Bowman (Scott) and Mandy W. Holtman (Derek); a sister, Margaret Watson; seven grandchildren, Tony Wright (Adrian), Justin Wright (Po), Jonathan Wright, Brian Bowman (Haley), Trevor Bowman, Samantha Holtman, and Cody Holtman; and six great grandchildren.

Leah, who was affectionately known as “Myrtle Floyd” was an awesome gardener, an artist, and a published author with a book titled “Under a Summer Sun”. She was a steadfast wife and mother, who loved the time she spent with her family. She was a member and past president of the Franklinton Women’s Club and a member and former pianist and organist at Perry’s Chapel Baptist Church.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 2:00pm at Perry’s Chapel Baptist Church, 894 Perry’s Chapel Rd., Franklinton, NC 27525. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
