Barbara Kay Embert Wood, 61, of Louisburg departed this earthly life on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at her home. She was born on March 18, 1956 to the late Robert Lee and Bernice Amelia Embert (Beck). Barbara was one of thirteen children. She was preceded in death by her siblings Larry Embert, Maryann Whitley, Diane Embert, Jimmy Embert, Rodney Embert, Audrey Embert, Kenny Embert and Bobby Embert. She loved country music, singing, crafting, planting flowers and doing projects with her grandchildren. She was a good cook and loved to talk and had a silly sense of humor.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, at 3:00 pm at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services chapel, 804 N. Bickett Blvd, Louisburg, NC 27549.

She is survived by her daughters, Diana W. Ringlien (Brad), Martha K. Wood (Marty Istre), Barbara A. Wood (Andre Durham), and grandchildren, Alana, Anna, Cameron, Amiyah, Renee, Destonee and her great granddaughter, Nova Simora; her siblings, twin brother, Lonnie Embert, Bonnie Smith, Billy Embert and Robin Embert; her children’s father, James Wood and her best friend, Regina Terry.
